QVC UK Graphics Reel 2015

QVC UK Graphics 2015 Reel from michael lomon on Vimeo.

Some snippets from our choicest cuts over the year.

Franch Beauty Tour

Open brief for this one - I decided on a painterly exploration of a few key French destinations.
This is probably the fourth time I've drawn the Eiffel Tower for QVC - and I'm sure there'll be more to come!

QVC Graphics Reel 2014

Our premium promotional film output over the last year, along with a short intro dedicated to the Graphics team's favourite pastime.
All work created by Michael Lomon and Nick Haldane!

QVC GRAPHICS REEL 2013

The cream of 2013.
This one languished on our hard drive for a while after it's initial screening, nearly time for another one!

Triple Day

It's that time of year when QVC let you pay for all sorts of stuff with 3 "ez" payments.
What else do you need.

BEAUTY DAY 2013

Busby Berkley inspired product choreography with a bit more colour and space travel - what could go wrong? Mixing fixed angle 3D elements with product photography kept this one looking novel and allowed for some snappy animation. Probably my favourite piece of QVC work from 2013.

Spring Jewellery Day Promo

It's a magazine. A model pops up and there's a butterfly.
What else do you need.

Baby Its Cold Outside Endboard

It sure is Cold Outside.

Anything Goes

A show title for one of QVC's Saturday Night Extravaganzas.
All lightbulbs made in good old C4D.

Producer: Martin Denham

QVC App Promo

A jolly little piece promoting QVC's App.
Featuring a quick but rather effective animation.

Going for a vintage, somewhat 'Americana' look for this promo.

Logo Design: Nick Haldane

Taking inspiration from the idea of the flip book, Paul was eager to introduce some Pop Art design ideas into the mix. I created the book around Nick's logo and in the process, learned a little about the logistics of book ring binding and page flipping. Hmm... troublesome. All 3D work in Cinema 4D

TRIPLE DAY

TRIPLE DAY from michael lomon on Vimeo.

Client: QVC
Producer: Anna Kersey
Animation/Design/Edit: Michael Lomon

Lots of info and brands to get across for this promo - so went for a tightly animated, text heavy approach. Anna stressed that bunting also had to feature - that was a definite. Always fun to play with different transition and integration of subtle 3d elements like the calendar.

Diamonique Spectacular

Camera tracking in Mocha was bloody useful in this Daliesque promo.
Sadly no Ocelot called Babou.

Design/Animation: Nick Haldane
Producer: Paul Burns

Around the World in 80 Gems

Using just stills and Trapcode Particular, we've created quite the gem of a global adventure.
Sadly no Michael Palin.

Grand Opening

Client: QVC Producer: Anna Kersey Animation/Design/Edit: Michael Lomon

Anna had decided upon a 'circus' related brief which would be a full 30 seconds of graphics, using various colourful characters to transition between brand logos.

With only a five day deadline from concept to final render - I had to keep things pretty minimal. Style influences included Jiri Trnka's excellent 1951 Merry Circus and a fair few vintage circus posters. All elements were drawn and animated in After Effects with the exception of a couple of Cinema 4D assets such as the invitation at the beginning.

European Tour 2012

Client: QVC Producer: Rob Watkins Animation/Design/Edit: Michael Lomon

Following Rob's clear and concise storyboards, we follow our leading lady as she journeys across Europe, encountering (conveniently it must be said) plenty of QVC sold products and a little romance to boot!

Everything in this promo was drawn and animated in After Effects. With only five days to complete, it was a bit touch and go. We limited our product range and I had to reign things in a bit in terms of environmental/character detail. However with the freedom to introduce transitions and explore some character animation, this was a very rewarding project for me and I hope some of that enthusiasm shows in the final promo.
